I have been working at Seminole County Public Schools full-time (More than 5 years)
100% paid medical insurance premiums for the employee. However to add any family members outrageous out of pocket cost!
As with any other Florida district low salary, no steps for years of service only merit pay. If you were hired after July 2011 as I was, no addtl pay for advanced degrees unless they match your certification exactly, no job security, no classroom resources provided, not even a band aide.
Advice to Management
School Board Members are not advocates for teachers. They oppose salary increases and oppose most of the proposals unions members lobby for on behalf of classroom teachers.
I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Seminole County Public Schools (Sanford, FL).
Pretty easy. The assistant principal was the one that did the interview. They called me back for a job offer. I accepted and have been shelling there ever since
