Mission: Our workplace culture is guided by a single, fundamental belief based on the “Golden Rule” of business.
We treat people the way we would want to be ...
We recently received the results of our first third-party Client Satisfaction Survey by Inavero. The survey resulted in us receiving a Net Promoter Score (the industry standard for evaluating overall client loyalty to a brand) of 9.2, compared to the accounting industry average of 7.7. Of the survey responses we received, only 4% of clients rated us less than a 6, compared to the industry average of 25%. The overwhelmingly positive feedback of this survey resulted in SSF earning a Best of Accounting award by Inavero.

Sensiba San Filippo LLP (SSF), a leading Northern California-based accounting and business consulting firm, is delighted to announce that it has once again been named one of the top small companies by the Bay Area News Group for San Francisco Bay Area’s Top Workplaces of 2015.
“We are honored to be named one of the top workplaces in the San Francisco Bay Area, particularly as the judges were our employees,” said John Sensiba, Managing Partner of Sensiba San Filippo LLP. “We work hard to foster a culture where employees are valued and can grow their career. This honor speaks to our continued dedication to our most valued asset, our employees. They are the ones that help foster our innovative culture and build our firm in dynamic times.”
The Bay Area News Group, which owns the San Jose Mercury News, Oakland Tribune, Contra Costa Times and other media properties, ranked 100 companies as top places to work in the Bay Area. SSF ranked 31st out of 50 companies named in the small company category. The Bay Area Top Workplaces award is based on an anonymous independent survey conducted by Workplace Dynamics. Employees were asked to rate their satisfaction with several aspects of working at SSF, including community involvement, health and wellness, leadership, and hiring and expansion. Also taken into consideration are employee insights, opinions and feelings of the long term health of the company, managers, work/life balance, and opportunities for career development. Company rankings were based on a composite score calculated on the basis of employee responses.
I have been working at Sensiba San Filippo full-time (Less than a year)
SSF truly wants to see you succeed and they prepare you in the best way they can before you begin really working. From the HR team to the experienced staff, they make you feel comfortable with expressing your questions or concerns that you may have as a new employee.
You get the opportunity to build relationships with your coworkers and the partners as you end up working closely with them during engagements. This is something that the bigger firms may lack, because there are larger teams assigned to projects and you hardly ever get to interact with partners as a first year staff.
The firm is huge on having a solid work-life balance. This is totally possible throughout the year (unless it is busy season).
There is a lot of room for growth within the firm, which is great for individuals just starting their careers.
SSF is also a certified B-Corp!! They truly value their societal and environmental impact, and this shows throughout their practices at the firm.
Busy season (but that comes with the job)
I applied through college or university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Sensiba San Filippo (San Jose, CA) in October 2016.
Applied on campus center and applied online.
Got an interview on-site at their downtown office.
Partner walks you to your interview room where you will be interviewed by a Manager.
Bet it was his first interview session. All questions were generic.
Very unwelcoming. Did not even escort me back to the lobby. Their office is a maze of glass walls.
Was called for a second round interview. No thanks.
Not a great way to attract talent.
