  • Forever Homes
    We know the “ordinary” for a shelter pet is not so great. To make their lives a lot more special, Sequoia is happy to reimburse our residents up to $250 each time they adopt a cat or dog from the local humane society. So go ahead, make their day.

At Sequoia Equities, we take tremendous pride in providing industry-leading learning and development programs and resources to our team members. We strive to equip and inspire every one of our team members to succeed in their roles, serve our customers, and execute against our mission by providing diverse and high-impact learning experiences.


Every new team member who joins Sequoia Equities receives a personalized training plan, which includes a roadmap to success for that team member in his or her role. These training plans include on-demand web-based training, classroom experiences, 1:1 teaching from experienced team members, and hands-on learning and application assignments. As they complete these training plans, team members develop the knowledge, skills, and relationships they'll need to succeed in their roles.

Continuous Learning

The learning doesn't stop after new hire training! Every year, we provide dozens of learning opportunities to help our team members continue to grow as professionals and advance in their careers. These training experiences include topics like: Financial Management, Leadership, Maintenance, Sales & Marketing, Customer Experience Management, Company Systems & Processes, and more!

Mentor Program

To help our high potential team members successfully transition into first-time management roles, we have implemented the Sequoia Mentor Program. The carefully-selected mentors in this program are company leaders who exemplify the values, behaviors, and results that make our company great. These mentors are matched with high potential non-manager mentees, for a high impact experience that includes coaching, feedback, projects, and exposure to the challenges they will face as managers. This program has helped us to increase the number of management positions that can be filled from within by proactively preparing our next generation of leaders.

On-demand Learning Resources and Performance Support Tools

To help reinforce and extend the support of training experiences, we maintain a library of performance support tools. Team members can find user guides, job aids, and videos to help them in the moment of need, whether they are completing expense reports, navigating a new online system, or preparing for a career development discussion.

Outside Training

To help team members learn and develop in areas where we do not currently offer in-house training, we provide an Outside Training Program whereby team members may apply for company sponsorship of outside training. Team members have been able to leverage this program to attain industry certifications, participate in professional conferences, and build job-specific skills to help them continue to succeed in their roles and advance their careers.

    Excellent leadership throughout the company. Great benefits all around with random "Surprise and Delight" for employees and residents. During the pandemic, Sequoia has been providing lunch for ALL staff members in every location, every day! They've also added "Lunch is On Us" for the residents. How cool is that? They also have random "Rest and Relaxation" paid days off that they surprise all employees with. It feels good knowing that I am working for a company that truly cares about their employees and residents. After being with another great company (different industry) for many years, it was a difficult decision to leave. I am happy to say that coming on board with Sequoia was the right choice for me.


    No cons for working here.

    I applied online. The process took 2+ weeks. I interviewed at Sequoia Equities (Walnut Creek, CA) in November 2019.


    I received an email regarding interest in an interview within 5 days of my submitted application. The second interview was also extremely smooth and expeditious. I was flown to the corporate headquarters for a third interview, which was a great experience (despite the rainy weather the Bay Area was experiencing). I have never had such a smooth and great interview experience! I am blown away.
