I have been working at Serene Corporation full-time (More than 3 years)
Excellent hands-on people at all levels
Generally speaking very people oriented though HR practices are missing
Have maintained a strong focus in niche areas
Good and challenging projects across the board that keeps life exciting
Great learning playground with a lot of emphasis on training opps (at least at offshore site)
Too narrow a focus with too much dependency on one OEM
Very poor HR presence for an org this size
Benefits are on the lower side (eg, only 2 weeks vacation, no 401k co-contribution, poor medical plans)
Advice to Management
Needs better division of labor and definition of roles/responsibilities
Need to better define the execution organization structure
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Serene Corporation (Santa Clara, CA) in May 2015.
Super quick process and very straight to the point. Offer was given after 2 phone calls with Vinay. I was expecting the process to be much longer, but they felt that I knew what I was talking about.
The negotiation phase was really easy and there was room to wiggle.
