Technical Account Manager

Being a woman in tech, I only recently started advocating for myself at work about advancement opportunities. Because of this I wanted to ask this question to my male counterparts. When you have 1:1's with your direct reports and talk about career growth / aspirations what is your managers’ response typically? I’d like to gauge how my experience (negative) differs from others. For instance are you met with blockades, enthusiasm, dread, etc?

Pros

Great team of smart individuals. The culture was very relaxed. Remote work was standard.

Cons

Advancement options were limited. Vacation policy could be better. Payroll coming out only once at the end of the month made it challenging to handle expenses.

    I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at ServiceTrade (Durham, NC) in Mar 2022

    Interview

    Interview was conducted in 3 parts, all via zoom. Hiring manager was extremely knowledgeable and very personable. Interviews were conversation-based and low-pressure. Some behavioral/ technical scenarios were given to gage preparedness, but most conversations were culture-centered. Final interview was with a C-level executive and was awesome. Overall great experience!
