I've worked at a number of firms, and this, by far is the best place to work for an accountant who wants to succeed without sacrificing their personal life. Most of us are busy year round, so no, there's not a lot of down time, but that's just how work is. But the overtime is manageable and limited to busy season - and it's compensated. The PTO is much more generous than other places. It's an extremely diverse workplace. Unlike at a larger firm, managers are respectful of personal commitments and PTO. As a regional firm, we get a lot more face time with our clients than we might as a larger firm.
It's a regional firm. As such, opportunities for travel are more limited than at a larger firm. And obviously, no overseas postings.
I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Shea Labagh Dobberstein (San Francisco, CA) in October 2015.
I learned about SLD through Meet The Firms on campus. Had a nice conversation with the representative. I got notified by email for an office interview/tour which lasted 3 hours. I met some very nice and professional people there. It was a great experience.
