    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Shoe Carnival part-time (Less than a year)

I have four managers but the one who is in charge of scheduling is incredibly nice. I always get the days off that I request and they work with me to find a replacement on days that I need to ask off that I'm already scheduled. Almost all of the other associates that I work with are great. They'll give you hours if you need them and they'll pull back if you need (like for school sports or whatever).

I have four managers. Only one closes every night, unless it's a holiday or back to school, but they're all four there during the day. It's a headache because I'll have multiple people telling me what to do and not communicating with each other what I'm supposed to be doing. One manger talks crap all day long about other managers and other employees, which is very unprofessional and immature. The other is a bully. She is extremely rude and mean towards me when I have done nothing to deserve it. They all play favorites and are hypocrites. Costumers of course are horrible but it's a retail job so it's expected.

    Advice to Management

Care about your employees. You need us so treat us better. There needs to be some sort of control or discipline among the managers. Discipline employees when they need to be even if they are the favorite.

    Mic Person and Cashier Interview

    Anonymous Employee in Baytown, TX
    Accepted Offer
    Positive Experience
    Easy Interview

I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Shoe Carnival (Baytown, TX) in August 2015.

Interview was fast, short and quick to the point. I got interviewed and the manager didnt even give me a chance to say what I applied for. I had no choice. Manager was straight forward about the position being seasonal and that shoe carnival was really ONLY busy this time of year which was august ( back to school). He told me I would be basically cleaning up after people. He had a very matteroffactly attitude about him and smurked alot. This made me uncomfortable.
