I have been working at Shopko Stores part-time
Shopko is full of friendly teammates with outstanding superiors and kind customers and in my personal experience my manager is so kind and easy to talk to which makes this a great environment to work in. My manager most definitely puts his customer service above all else which is a really great change of pace.
Personally, the only con that I have come across is that during the holidays we hire so many people that people start getting their hours cut significantly.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Shopko Stores (Green Bay, WI) in March 2011.
I was recruited by HR and had several phone interviews before my information could be passed on to the hiring managers. I had interviews with six individuals, was told that everything was looking extremely good and that they were very excited that I was still interested in the position, although it could be a couple weeks until all other interviews were done.
A month later I sent a chatty email to the HR person asking for an update.
Two weeks later I got a curt reply that I had been told it would take a while.
Two months later position was reposted - I sent an upbeat email that I was still interested.
