Interview
This was a simple phone screen for a TPM position. The responsibilities listed online in the job ad DO NOT reflect what the company is actually looking for. Technical Product Manager’s DO NOT CODE. Technical Project Manager’s DO ALSO NOT CODE. It is not their responsibility to code. They are PRODUCT/PROJECT Manager’s that are technically inclined and that can make technical decisions. They are looking for a TPM that will do two jobs. The job of a software engineer and the job of a product manager for one salary between 70 and 90,000.00. Essentially they are looking for a very senior engineer that wants to be a TPM. This person (if they find one) should be paid upwards of 140,000.00. TLDR: Wasted half an hour doing a phone screen because the team at ShowPass can’t create a job posting correctly. Team is actually hiring for a very senior position or to fill the missing void of CTO.What are your salary expectations? Walk me through your resume or tell me a little bit about yourself. Can you tell me about ________ project? Do you have experience with Python? Have you used Django? Would you prefer to work on the back-end or front-end coding team? Do you know what API’s are? Have you used them? What languages/technologies do you know? What level are you?
