Our CSR program is grounded in the core elements of our values and ethos—harnessing the power of simplicity to build world-class brands, driving innovation to solve clients’ problems and helping organizations and people realize their full potential. It stems directly from the truth of who we are.
We partner with the global nonprofit Unreasonable Institute to select our CSR Siegel+Gale Fellows. These social entrepreneurs are developing simple solutions to the world’s most complex problems—including poverty, hunger, pollution and lack of access to educational opportunities. All of them are thinking about challenges in innovative and imaginative ways.
We collaborate with the Fellows to create compelling brand stories and experiences that achieve business and social impact. In short, we bring their brands to life. For our Fellows, this means helping them meet their ambitious goals of improving the lives of more than one million people.
Our 2012 CSR Siegel+Gale Fellows are:
Michael Wilkerson, Tugende (formerly Own Your Own Boda), Uganda—Tugende helps motorcycle taxi (boda boda) drivers in Uganda own rather than rent their taxis to accelerate out of poverty. Michael, a former journalist and Fulbright scholar, is co-founder and CEO of this three-year-old for-profit social enterprise.
Mouhsine Serrar, Prakti Design, Haiti—Prakti Design brings fuel-efficient cooking along with its health, economic and social benefits to the world’s poorest women. Mouhsine’s affordable and elegant cookstove is already improving the quality of life for more than 100,000 people in India, Nepal and Haiti.
