I have been working at Signet Jewelers full-time (More than 8 years)
Stable company with continued growth and a long term business strategy to remain the dominate leader in retail jewelery sales.
So larger you may feel disconnected. Direct managers will not (normally) go to bat for good, dedicated employees if they think it will rock the boat for themselves. For the strong individual who isn't shy about speaking up and pushing their own career interests forward, this isn't a problem.
Advice to Management
Consider that hard-working, dedicated team members are hard to find and retaining them isn't a given just because"we have a great culture here". Value their efforts on merit. Seek to reward those who lead rather than the squeakiest complaining wheel.
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Signet Jewelers (Akron, OH).
Filled out online app. Got a phone call to have interview 3 days later. Very nice guy, told me about his life and family and how long he has worked for company. Asked basic questions about previous work work history, why I would be good fit for the job...difficult situations dealt with at work...
Very nice and professional, and very personable.
