    I worked at Simmons & Co. full-time

    Pros

Great experience overall, you will have more autonomy relative to a bulge bracket bank and exposure to clients which should help you go buyside

    Cons

Can be bureaucratic at times, hours are also fairly rigid depending on who the senior analyst is. Be prepared to get to work very early as well

    Advice to Management

Pay employees more, it is impossible to retain top talent wen competitors can dramatically offer higher pay. Relax the office, it should be a more fun palce to work considering size

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2+ weeks. I interviewed at Simmons & Co. (Houston, TX).

    Interview

20 minutes each with about 5-7 people . Typical tell me about yourself, explain resume gaps, etc type questions.

Unprofessional. First an interviewer uses profanity, then HR doesn't care to follow up to tell you you're not being considered even after they've made the decision not to pursue you. I just guess they leave it to the candidate to follow up. It could've been one month or probably even never (in terms of getting news after the physical interview) had I not asked them if there was any movement.
If you're interviewing make sure you follow up.
