  1. Associate Cloud Operations Engineer Interview

I applied online. I interviewed at Sitecore (Canada)

Applied for the position, and got a call from an internal recruiter.

The recruiter call was a quick introduction to the company and a very high-level understanding of my background and skills relevant to the position.

The recruiter explained that there would be three interviews:

First interview with the Hiring manager

Second Technical interview with Engineers and Hiring manager

    Third interview with the Director

It took about a week or so for the recruiter to get back to me to schedule an interview with the Hiring Manager.

I did the first interview with the Hiring Manager. Everything went great, Manager said that they were doing interviews with other candidates and once they were done, the recruiter would follow up to schedule the technical interview.

About two weeks passed, and I get a call from the recruiter to schedule the technical interview.

I do the technical interview with the hiring manager and two engineers.

The hiring manager said at the end of the interview, that they would get back to me in 1-2 weeks to let me know the results.

I wait two weeks, I send an email to the recruiter asking for an update, waited a couple of days, and didn't get a response.

I email the hiring manager and waited a couple of days but didn't get any response, not even an automated message saying that they don't wish to proceed.

It's very frustrating that after committing so much of my time preparing and interviewing with Sitecore, they would lead me on and then ghost me.

Why would you tell someone to wait for a response for 1-2 weeks and then ghost them?

If anyone is reading this from Sitecore, I highly recommend that if you don't intend to hire a candidate at least send them an automated or templated message informing the candidate that its not a right fit.

Don't make people wait two weeks wondering when they are going to get a response and then never update them after you told them that you would.
