Mission: Our mission is to provide the highest-quality training for companies and business people around the world, so they can benefit personally and professionally from the experience.

Company Updates

  • SkillPath had the privilege of sponsoring this year's #mentoringmonday hosted by the Kansas City Business Journal. Nearly 400 women gathered at the Overland Park Convention Center to network and participate in one-on-one mentoring sessions with more than 80 of Kansas City's elite businesswomen. We were honored to have our very own VP of Training Operations, Michele Markey, lead a session on overcoming the imposter syndrome, while another six of our employees participated as mentees.

  • More than 100 trainers from across the country (and Canada) gathered in Kansas City January 7-9 for the 2019 Trainer Conference. The theme of the conference, Innovating Together, perfectly symbolized the content and energy of the event, which left employees and trainers alike excited for the future.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and as an extension of the Graceland College Center for Professional Development and Lifelong Learning, SkillPath operates with an overarching mission: Provide tools and instruction so that those who want to be better can be.

We support that mission every day of the year through more than 8,000 live public events, more than 250 online training events and thousands of hours of on-demand learning content. But we don’t stop there.

Each year, SkillPath contributes 100% of our excess earnings to support students. Since 2001, we have contributed more than $125 million to Graceland University scholarship and endowment funds. And all of it is thanks to customers and clients from around the world.

Students from nearly every state and 30 nations choose from more than 50 academic majors and programs at Graceland—and its graduate online education program consistently ranks as one of the nation’s best.

I have been working at SkillPath full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

SkillPath invests in their people. The many health benefits are AMAZING. But having an employer encourage employees to better themselves through tuition reimbursement, time off to do volunteer work, incentives for physical health, access to learning materials, and personal development speaks volumes about how SkillPath feels about their employees. I feel very valued by my manager and my company as a whole.

    Cons

Change is occurring at a rapid pace, that can be overwhelming and scary for staff. Onboarding improvements are in the works, but currently that area is lacking. New hire experiences vary by what department you are in.

    Advice to Management

Continue to reach out to employees at all levels to hear their concerns, thoughts and suggestions. The collaborative environment is what moves our ship forward! I would love to see a "Review Up" process where employees are encouraged to review the management in their own departments. Constructive feedback keeps everyone sharp!

    Account Executive Interview

    Anonymous Employee in Mission, KS
    Accepted Offer
    Positive Experience

    Application

I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at SkillPath (Mission, KS) in February 2018.

    Interview

I felt Comfortable, 2 men 1 woman, the woman looked like she could beat all of the men up, yet she seemed smart fierce and the men seemed highly intelligent, however I could tell the older man was definitely a Porsche driver and probably voted for Hillary. was obviously from out of state or lived in mission KS. I enjoyed the interview however feared I might be challenged by the fierce looking female into a push up contest, being from the millennial generation I almost broke into tears, I was then pleased that the other male in the room. "The Rugged hipster" asked me some extremely intelligent questions, I then bragged about my background in sales, and they all seemed to cheer in harmony, i was shocked that they broke out into a dance and lifted me up onto the shoulders. "The fierce looking woman did most of the lifting" However you could tell they were a team and as you know ... There is no I in Team.. but now there is ME. I was really impressed by the dancing, they must practice often. The Porsche driver who clearly was not from the Midwest and wise in his years danced so well he actually cut the rug. not just saying it.. he rose like fancey fierce peacock that was feed tigers milk broke into a solo slapping his hands and putting on a round black hat with bells and did a magnificent samba. and that is when i knew for sure... he was not from the mid west.. and he really did cut the rug. long story short, cut rug , i got the job, the hipster just shook his head, the female gladiator did some sorta back flip sword ninja thing.
