SkillPath – Why Work For Us?

Joining SkillPath means joining a team focused on working hard but playing hard too. SkillPath hosts a variety of fun events throughout the year, including:

  • Family Fun Night - this year at LEGOLAND
  • Fall festival
  • Winter party

  • Monthly birthday and anniversary celebrations

We have an Event Committee focused on planning amazing events to celebrate our employees and often their families too.

SkillPath also gives back to the Kansas City community, supporting organizations like Harvesters, Project Warmth, Children's MercyHospitals, American Heart Association and more.

Employees are encouraged to take off a full eight hours of paid time each year to volunteer.

Finally, as a nonprofit affiliated with Graceland University in Iowa, SkillPath helps fund scholarships for students.

I have been working at SkillPath full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Excellent health insurance benefits, 401K matching, and vacation time allowance. Family oriented and now showing a true dedication to improved internal and external communications. New CEO and executive team are making positive changes across the board to improve what was lacking, while keeping what was good.

    Cons

A recent change at the very top always inserts a little instability and uncertainly at the new structure and direction of the company is in flux, but nothing to suggest any of the changes will be negative.

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at SkillPath (Mission, KS).

    Interview

There was never a formal interview. An "audition" video was submitted, based on the video they determine whether they would like to see more & invite you to certification. Certification is essentially a week long interview. Everyday you will do presentations related to the class they are thinking of starting you on. In addition to the presentations you also learn about the company and meet everyone you will be corresponding with on a regular basis. You find out whether you pass 2-3 weeks afterwards. If you pass then they start to schedule you.

    Interview Questions

    • There was no formal interview; instead it was you demostrating you could teach.   1 Answer
