Skyline Windows – Why Work For Us?

Why should YOU work for Skyline Windows?

For nearly 100 years, Skyline Windows has consistently focused on innovation and quality. Since 1921, we have delivered on our promise to be the best in the industry.  We've evolved from a small roofing and waterproofing business to being New York's leading window company.

As our founder has aptly stated, "The work should speak for itself."  This is reflected in the craftsmanship and service that we continue to provide - from our senior management, engineers, sales, installers and plant employees, this is a common thread in our company. We would like YOU to be a part of the tradition and innovation that is taking place at Skyline.

The Skyline Difference

Skyline Windows designs, manufactures, installs and service our own windows.  It is our way of ensuring the quality of our products and to guarantee that our clients are well taken care of throughout the entire cycle.

Our success lies in our talented employees putting quality first.  What has stayed the same for nearly 100 years, is our dedication to creating outstanding relationships with our clients and truly caring about the products we deliver to them each and every day.  Our company was built on trust, integrity, quality, respect and customer commitment.

We’re proud of the work we do each day and want the best and the brightest to join our family. If you are a person who likes to collaborate, solve problems, take mitigated risks and want to have an impact on the NYC landscape, then Skyline Windows is the company for you. No business challenge is too big, and no customer request is too small - we find the solution for our clients.  Talk to any of our employees and you will quickly learn that they are passionate, dedicated and excited about the work they get to do every single day.

Our Culture

How would YOU feel walking around NYC and seeing the impact of your work on almost every block? What would it feel like to point to a window that you had a hand in creating?  Amazing, you say? Well, we can help you with that.

At Skyline Windows, we advocate for our employee's professional growth.  We want you to be a champion for our clients. Your leaders will double as mentors and your colleagues will act as partners, supporting you each step of your journey toward success. Opportunity is yours for the taking, we encourage excellence and provide our employees with the resources to be successful.  All of this is made possible by our leadership team.

Skyline has installed more windows in more New York buildings than any other company. From landmarks to new construction, high end residential to high volume commercial, we have done more window work in more types of buildings than anyone else.  We are “active listeners” who work hard to understand your needs, and then apply all of the expertise and experience we have garnered through the years to offer the best solutions possible. We work hand in hand with architects, contractors and owners to address all of the unique design, budget and functional needs of their particular projects. Regardless of the size or scope of your job, you owe it to yourself to know what Skyline thinks.

Design & Engineering

No two window jobs are alike. Windows serve a critical role in the structure, design and integrity of a building or a residence. Therefore, our engineers create and design each Skyline Window to not only look and perform to your highest expectations, but to enhance the structural integrity of your building or home. From ease of use, waterproofing, insulating, and noise reduction to enhancing the beauty of your building or your views, Skyline designs each window for maximum functionality and beauty.

Whether we are fabricating windows for a major metropolitan center or a window for an exclusive Manhattan apartment, each window is hand-crafted by people who have developed an expertise in their area. Skyline windows are built in assembly line fashion: they move from station to station where sawing, sash, hardware, glazing and other experts help to create each new window. The workers in our 60,000 square foot factory take great pride in their work and hold themselves to the highest standards. The result; exceptional, one-of-a-kind windows built to the exact specifications of the job.

Installation and Service

The Skyline product is a result of the quality of our windows and the breath of our experience. That is why we view installation in occupied spaces as such a key part of the Skyline experience. We understand that you work or live in the space where we install, and recognize that taking the pain out of this process is key. We carefully map out the installation logistics of each job, from manufacturing to scheduling in order to minimize disruption; so much so that in many cases, the only indication that we were even there is a quieter, drier, warmer and more beautiful space. And after we install, we are the only company that stands behind

In 1921, Sam Kraus founded the company.  We started out as a roofing and waterproofing business.

In the 1950’s, David Kraus took over Skyline and led it into window replacement to meet customer needs. This dramatically expanded upon our offerings. At first, Skyline used other manufacturers’ windows, but soon found that in order to create the perfect solution for customers, we needed to control the entire process, from design to manufacturing to installation.

As the New York real estate market expanded, the demand for high quality custom windows grew. When third generation and current CEO Steven Kraus came to Skyline in the 1970's, he broadened the product offerings by integrating European design and quality standards into Skyline’s own customized product line.

Currently, the stage is being set for the 4th generation, Matthew Kraus, to carry on the well established tradition and philosphy that is embodied by all of our employees.
