    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Smashing Boxes (United States)

    Interview

    • Applied on LinkedIn
    • Interest confirmed; initial video call with Hiring Manager. Very transparent about current change in governance/org structure, which was important for my decision
    • Prompt for presenting case study (see Interview Question)
    • Interview with COO, discuss job, organization, and case study
    • Interview with 2 designers + me to talk shop
    • Offer

It's cool seeing office spaces and meeting people IRL, but, honestly, remote hiring is pretty sweet. Much easier to plan the day around.

Interviewing with SB was a good balance of casual and serious. Transparent and friendly. An ideal tone for interviews, in my opinion.
