This week, Dennis will be celebrating 38 years with Sonepar USA. He started his career as a warehouse associate in September of 1980 with Cameron & Barkley, which was acquired by Vallen (formerly Hagemeyer North America) and now is part of the Sonepar USA family. Dennis is in his mid-60s and showing no signs of slowing down, just yet. Tammy Livers will now be leading our Key Accounts strategy as the Senior Vice President of Key Accounts! Tammy joined Sonepar in 2017 as the Vice President of Business Strategy. She has a diverse background in distribution and manufacturing, and has held several other various leadership roles throughout her career.

Offerings and Customers
The distribution of electrical products — such as lighting, conduit, wire and cable — is the primary function of Sonepar USA. Sonepar USA also distributes nonelectrical products, including tools, safety solutions and maintenance supplies. Additionally, some of the customized solutions we offer include eCommerce, energy audits and retrofits, store room and project management.

Sadie - Outside Sales
"I found about our company through the career fair and was lucky enough to get an interview on campus for the Sonepar Management Training Program. I got to spend time with each level of the company in the operating branches. I started in the warehouse then moved into becoming a buyer on-site. I really liked the whole customer interaction aspect of the company and moved into inside sales. I processed a lot of orders and sold from inside the branch. Then I got to hit the road and move into outside sales and started engaging with customers. I did that for a full year, and by then it was very clear to me that I wanted to do outside sales. I love my customers, as I get to build a relationship with them, really getting to offer service and products that help them. I get to bring a new technology or a new solution to them."
Jessie – Warehouse Supervisor
“I actually started 27 years ago. I started in 1987 in the warehouse as a driver. From a driver, I went to a team leader and then moved to a warehouse supervisor…. Customers come in and they do tell you they won’t shop anywhere else because they feel like a family when they come in. That’s how we make them feel.”
Marcus – Inside Sales Operations
“I have been with the company for approximately eight years. I started at the counter and did that for approximately two to three years. I was also the floater as well, so I went from location to location - from York, Pennsylvania to Virginia, to Richmond and Alexander, and everywhere in between. During that rotation I worked in basic counter sales, answering phones, putting in orders, etc. And as time went on, I was able to engage in a lot of the training that Sonepar offered to all of its associates. And I was able to better myself, and earn some certifications that allowed me to qualify for the position I'm currently in now.”
Rachael - HR Shared Services
“I have been with the company for about eight years, and I am currently the HR Shared Services Manager. The people are my passion, and I love being in the HR department. I have no doubt that when people come on board to this organization they're going to fall in love with it. “We – in the electrical product distribution and related services industries - may not be in a very attractive business to the IT professional. However, if you look at our technology, we have the latest and greatest storage sub-systems, virtualized technology from VMWare, Cisco and Cisco UCS, as well as advanced router equipment that we use for our networking. These technologies are what's up and coming in the industry today.”

Keep doing what you're doing.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 8 weeks. I interviewed at Sonepar USA (Charleston, SC) in December 2017.
Phone call with internal Recruiter, video chat with Recruiter, video chat with Hiring Mgr, in-person interviews with the Executive Team. Final interview was with the international logistics organization LeaderThe entire Team was very respectful of my time and friendly throughout the process.
