Technical Account Manager
Being a woman in tech, I only recently started advocating for myself at work about advancement opportunities. Because of this I wanted to ask this question to my male counterparts. When you have 1:1's with your direct reports and talk about career growth / aspirations what is your managers’ response typically? I’d like to gauge how my experience (negative) differs from others. For instance are you met with blockades, enthusiasm, dread, etc?

ConsNothing, keep up the great work
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Sonrai Security (New York, NY) in Nov 2020
InterviewI had two interviews with staff. I was asked to provide a mock press release and a blog on "any topic I thought should be on their website". I was invited to interview with their marketing leader. The interview was rescheduled three times, then canceled the day before without explanation. I asked if we could reschedule. The next day, I received a series of cryptic emails from the hiring manager when I was available to talk. The hiring manager called me to tell me they were going in a different direction, and wanted someone with more technical expertise. The manager said "they just really need to figure out what they want this role to be." Really? This company clearly has no idea what they want for marketing talent and wasted a significant amount of my time, and at least 10+ other candidates.
