I worked at Sony full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Big company with many interesting products and positions available; good benefits; decent advancement opportunities. Market leader in several major industries.

    Cons

The silos are a real problem. The company does not function as a unit. More like a group of fiefdoms, sometimes resulting in a mess. Lost market leadership in numerous industries. Also, Tokyo has a lot of control since they usually pay the budget. Local people feel they are not really valued.

    Advice to Management

Do more to break down the silos. And do something to save the mobile division, which is falling further and further behind the industry leaders (currently Apple and Samsung).

The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Sony.

    Interview

The interview was very easy and straight forward. Standard questions about why I would be a fit for Sony. I noticed a lot of the questions were based off the job description so study up! Know why Sony is for you and you should be fine.
