It's always a proud moment when our doctors, advanced providers, and nurses are recognized by our hospital partners. Still, it's extra meaningful to us when their leadership teams present our people with awards. Congratulations to Sound's Dr. Ho, who was recognized with a Physician of the Year award. Our partner's CEO and Chief Nursing Officer/Vice-president came to celebrate with Dr. Ho and express their gratitude for his outstanding performance.

In celebration of #NationalNursesWeek, we are honoring our incredible nurses across the nation. Their determined spirit has directly impacted our ability to connect at the site level, break down barriers, drive improved patient outcomes and develop a culture across our organization. This year, the International Council of Nurses themed 2021 "Nurses: A Voice to Lead." This theme reflects our nurses at Sound as they've shown tremendous strength throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Thank you for all that you do!

Pros

Competitive salary, autonomy, decent benefits, collaborative environment, flexible hours

Cons

Health benefit premiums are high. Orientation could've been better. I spent a lot of time doing things that ended up not being a part of my role. PTO could also be better, compared to other employers

Advice to Management

Check in with employees more than the once a year evaluation. Listen to what employees tell you what they need for improved work/life balance.

Diversity Programs & Initiatives

As an organization driven by the transformative power of data to uncover insights, we know that we can’t change what we don’t measure. In June of 2020 we conducted our first comprehensive diversity audit of our colleague demographic data to include hiring, turnover, evaluation and promotional practices.  While we are seeing progress in some areas, it uncovered areas where we need to improve to ensure a culture of inclusion. Those gaps are covered in more depth later in this document.

When we look at our colleague’s experience through the lens of diversity, it is important that we dive into where some of our people we may be experiencing bias that impact their ability to thrive
