I have been working at South Bay Community Services full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

South Bay focuses on quality services, care for clients and wraparound services for youth. The services provided under the Child Behavioral Health Initiative are comprehensive and staff are trained to provide a high level of quality wraparound services to ensure youth and families have the support they need to stabilize home lives. Day Services are offered in some sites and provide structure to help adults live successfully in their own community. Outpatient providers offer services for all ages and diagnoses. As an organization that values providing outreach services, South Bay reaches consumers in their homes, where clinicians can gain a comprehensive picture of the environment that plays a factor in clients' lives. This is a wonderful place to learn and hone skills over time. There are opportunities for growth within the organization and CEU training opportunities at no cost. As an employee for 8+ years, it's been great seeing the positive changes in training, benefits, and opportunities for growth, particularly in the past 2-3 years.

    Cons

EHR takes some getting used to, but once you grow accustomed to it, it's accessible and convenient. Scheduling can feel challenging in the beginning, and it seems like you're driving all over the place. Mentors and supervisors are provided to help develop a schedule. Most successful employees feel comfortable with scheduling by the end of the training periodic shortly after that.

    Advice to Management

Keep listening to staff and training management. It's making a difference.
