    Pros

SCC is a wonderful college with exemplary faculty and staff. The president is excellent in pursuing the best for SCC and its students. It is rewarding to share knowledge and change lives.

    Cons

    It can be extremely stressful.

    Difficult Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Southeastern Community College (Iowa).

    Interview

The application is extensive including a number of job specific essay questions. The time frame for the hiring process is extremely slow. Once an interview is set, the process moves quickly - a decision was made in my case within 7 days. For my position this was a panel interview with 5 panel members from different sectors of the college interviewing.

    Interview Questions

    • The most difficult part of the interview was doing an actual presentation. I was given a topic to prepare a ten minute workshop type presentation prior to the interview. Getting interaction in a panel interview is difficult.   1 Answer

    Negotiation

There was a set salary that I was aware of prior to the interview, so in this case there was not a negotiation
