Sovos Core Values & Purpose

Why do we exist? At Sovos, our core purpose is simple: to enable people to improve their way of life.

To achieve our core purpose, we rely on our employees to embody our core values:

Be Proactive

Sovosians take action and consistently drive to accomplish whatever challenging goals and objectives they face.

Lexie, R&D Product Manager Supervisor

"Every day is a new challenge. There is always something to learn. I have opportunities every day to grow as a professional. I work with an amazing team that inspires me to do my best every day, and that pushes me to grow in my career."

Be Accountable

Sovosians take initiative and responsibility by seizing opportunities and resolving problems in ways that add value to our organization.

Tyler, Product Associate

“In the role of product, nothing gets done unless you take initiative and embody accountability for your product. When we were down a team member, there was a vital piece missing of our product workflow. I took the initiative to fill this gap, even though it was well outside of my job description. Sovos is giving me the opportunity to rapidly grow my career by promoting me to a position with many different responsibilities.”

Be Adaptable

Business-to-government compliance is complex and ever-changing, so Sovosians must embrace change by adjusting effectively to work within new structures, processes and requirements, and seek opportunities for different and innovative approaches when addressing problems.

Nate, Sales Director

“My career at Sovos began in 2012 as a Business Development Intern. Nearly five years later, I have been promoted to four different roles within our sales and account management department.

My experience at Sovos has shown that with great change comes great opportunity. Each new career opportunity that I’ve encountered at Sovos has been derived through some type of change within Sovos. My ability to embody each of Sovos’ core values has resulted in the progress I’ve been able to make in advancing my career and taking on more responsibility.”

Be Professional

Sovosians demonstrate an accomplished level of technical and professional skills and knowledge in position-related areas, and view learning and development as a lifelong endeavor.

Alex, Director of Product Development

"I enjoy inspiring and coaching my team in Sovos' dynamic environment, with challenging business scenarios and amazing culture! The Sovos Core Values match perfectly with Agile Principles to empower people to deliver outstanding compliance solutions while improving teamwork and our best practices. That creates a perfect environment for career-oriented people eager to learn and grow!"

Be Collaborative

Sovosians support team decisions and share responsibility of both successes and failures; we recognize and appreciate contributions of team members, and provide each other with constructive feedback.

Charlie, Demand Generation Manager

"Being able to work effectively in a team has been crucial to my success. Because our business spans three continents (and
counting), it’s imperative that I communicate effectively across multiple departments to make sure campaigns run smoothly. In doing so, I have had the opportunity to get to know a lot of awesome people, people I may never have met if collaboration and teamwork were not such an integral part of the culture here."

Meet Our People

Ivan, Development Manager in Tucuman, Argentina

"I am responsible for leading the Development team to ensure company goals are met. This means I get to make plans and apply new strategies to our product solutions. From a development point of view, the best way to get results is working together. Sometimes, client requests require multiple departments to get together to deliver a solution with the high quality they expect from Sovos.

As a manager, I want to ensure that my direct reports enjoy working for Sovos, and support them in their career path and their accomplishments here at Sovos. I learn as much from my coworkers as they do from me - and I really enjoy that about my job."

Stacy, Director of Compliance Services in Minnetonka, MN

"I came into Sovos as a Senior Managed Services Representative. In that role, I saw a lot of room for increased documentation and training and I was empowered to put those changes in place. I continued to take on additional projects outside of my job description and was promoted to Compliance Services Manager, where I oversaw Withholding Management and Compliance Services. Throughout my years in leadership at Sovos, I have been given new challenges and new teams, and most recently, I was promoted to my current position, where I have the responsibility to lead, support, and mentor four different teams.

As a leader, nothing impresses me more than seeing a team member take initiative to make an improvement in a process for our team and for our clients, and then take accountability if something goes wrong. I find great satisfaction seeing my team finding purpose in their job and enjoying the work they do, and enjoying the Sovos culture along the way."

Mike, Compliance Services Supervisor in Wilmington, MA

"I was hired as a Team Lead for a newly acquired product. It was an awesome opportunity because the product was going through phasing of being implemented and designed into the Sovos way of thinking. As such, my manager and I were able to mold, create, and question the processes of the product and make changes where needed. During the process, I began to take on additional responsibilities that needed to be covered. After 8 months, I was promoted to Compliance Services Supervisor to manage the team and the software. It was awesome to accept that kind of responsibility and take on all the team challenges that were apparent with a brand new product.

Sovos is teaching me the skills needed to succeed in a corporate business environment. Every day has been a learning experience via client escalations, interdepartmental communication, and team development. I am so thankful for everyone’s help and faith in me during my career. It’s been a lot of work, but has been so rewarding to see such huge projects through to fruition.

As a whole, Sovos is growing so much that every workday is different. I enjoy coaching my team to grow and face more and more difficult challenges."

The nicest thing about working at Sovos is the Culture, the chances to grow up and how good is to be here. And the same line of management is something valuable.

The worst is that sometimes the process could be broken, and this could create a bad habit through the employees.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing the best for the company and your employees and this company can be the biggest in the world.

I applied online. I interviewed at Sovos (Wilmington, MA) in July 2017.

After applying for the job I was contacted by a Sovos recruiter to take a personality quiz and a 15 minute assessment on business math, vocabulary and logic. I then had a skype interview where I chatted with the same recruiter and then again too the assessment to verify that it was me who took the first one. I was then contacted for an in-person interview with the head of General Counsel and other counsel members. I was then offered the job by phone by the head of General Counsel.
