I have been working at Space Telescope Science Institute full-time

    Pros

    Collegiate environment.
    Many very smart people.

    Cons

    Many useless people.
    Poor management structure.
Some co-workers sleep at their desk with no repercussions.

    Advice to Management

Scientists do not make good managers. PhD's usually got a PhD because they wanted to do science not manage so don't make them manage people.

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Space Telescope Science Institute in February 2017.

    Interview

Applied in late January and interviewed early February. The interview took place over the phone where a manager and team lead asked me questions based on my resume and experience, they were very nice and fun to talk to. Was told there would be a 3+ month period of candidate consideration at the end of the interview.
