I have been working at Special School District full-time (More than a year)
The benefits are amazing, and you get a ton of experience. I had four schools as me to work for them- so I got my choice of schools and could pick one close to my house. So many sick days and PTO, as well.
You get paid differently based off the experience, so I could be working harder at my job but paid less because I have less experience.
I applied online. I interviewed at Special School District in April 2017.
The process takes FOREVER....I applied in January and just started hearing back from SSD in late March. Then, they make you go through a 3-step interview process- first with a specialist, then a phone interview with HR, then with whatever schools call you... it's been somewhat of a nightmare. It's now mid-May and I still am interviewing with schools, so the whole process has taken 5 months so far.
