Advice to Management
I understand that it is hard to have corporate in another state then your cafe locations. We really appreciate having field representatives from corporate.
Sent in my resume and a cover letter after seeing the job ad on Craigslist. Received an email from manager a couple of days later asking me to go for an interview. We agreed on a day and time. I got there on time and asked for the manager, the cashier told me to wait at a table and he would be with me shortly because he was on the phone. As I was waiting the manager kept passing by me not acknowledging me or anything at the time it didn’t bother me because I didn’t even know he was the manager yet. After about 20 minutes he asked the girl if I was waiting for him, no one had told him I asked for him. After she said yeah he came up to me and asked why I was there I told him we had scheduled an interview. I guess he had forgot, he then said he would be with me shortly because he was on hold. After about 15 more minutes he finally starts the interview. He acted like I had just walked in for an interview he never went through my resume. He asked me questions that had nothing to do with the job, like what’s my favorite Disney character, favorite movie, favorite book. During one of those odd questions I somehow mentioned my daughter and he then asked how many I had. After I said I had three girls he says, “What did you do to get god so angry that he gave you three girls?”. I didn’t even know what to say so I nervously laughed, as I always do. Any way after that weird questioning and asking me how was my social life with being a mother. He finally talked about the job position, a very brief description, and then proceeds to say “I’ll start you off at $12 the hour and if you’re still here in 3 months we can negotiate your pay, but people don’t last here.” I don’t understand why he would tell me that people don’t last at that’s job because a lot of them quit. Since he was so brief about the job I decided to mention my past work experience which was doing exactly what I would be doing that this place. He then said he would call me later in the day, it has been a week and I haven’t heard anything.
