Specialty’s Café & Bakery offers the quality of hand-made food with ultra-convenient online ordering that has won the hearts of busy professionals, meeting organizers, event planners and property managers.  A family-run business, Specialty’s offers a relaxed dining environment that allows customers to remain connected to the digital world as they wish with free Wi-Fi, abundant power outlets.  

Customers also love the ease and convenience of online ordering at Specialtys.com – leaving them with ample time to enjoy the food and ambiance.  As part of its commitment to leveraging technology to improve convenience, Specialty’s provides a wide range of ordering tools on its website, www.specialtys.com.  Users may create and save their own list of menu “favorites,” order and purchase items online for pickup at the café, submit business catering orders, and even track which famous Specialty’s cookies are hot out of the oven with their “Cookie Radar.”    The in-store iPads also allow customers of specialtys.com to access their stored favorites and earn Specialty's Rewards with in-store purchases.

    I worked at Specialty's Cafe & Bakery part-time (More than a year)


    The South Dearborn location was a friendly work environment; management genuinely cares about their employees. Specialty's values healthy food and creating positive relationships with their clients.


    It can be a high stress environment. Since everything is made to order, if anyone called in sick, the food making process was delayed and customers weren't always patient.

    I applied online. I interviewed at Specialty's Cafe & Bakery (Pleasanton, CA) in May 2017.


    The interviewer focused on what the role would actually involve. They asked me questions and proposed scenarios and gave me 10 min to come up with a plan for handling the scenario they asked about. They could really understand my thought process and what decisions I would make in certain situations. They didn't ask vague questions or any about strengths and weaknesses which compel an applicant to make up the answer they think the interviewer wants to hear. I left the interview happy and excited at the possibility of working for this company and the people who interviewed me. They treated me with respect and professionalism and by the end of the interview, I felt they truly got the best out of me. I hope to have more interview experiences like this.
