Being a woman in tech, I only recently started advocating for myself at work about advancement opportunities. Because of this I wanted to ask this question to my male counterparts. When you have 1:1's with your direct reports and talk about career growth / aspirations what is your managers’ response typically? I’d like to gauge how my experience (negative) differs from others. For instance are you met with blockades, enthusiasm, dread, etc?

In 2020, we launched 4 Employee Resources Groups (ERG) - Prism (LGBTQ+ ERG), Black@ZD, Asian ERG, Mezcla (Latinx ERG), and relaunched the Women’s Leadership Program (WLP) under our new ERG framework. The leadership teams and their members have done an outstanding job with helping shape employee policies, creating communities, bringing awareness to social issues, partnering with HR on inclusive hiring efforts, and much more. We were thrilled to award the current ERG leadership team with a 2021 Achievement Award in the category of Purpose for their work last year.
