"Solid company to work for"

Pros

The people I work with are awesome. Management is great and there is no micromanaging. Uncapped commission.

Cons

Regular startup growing pains, constant changes occurring within processes

  1. Director of Channels Interview

    Application

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Splashtop (San Francisco, CA) in Jul 2021

    Interview

A bit of an erratic, clunky process. Worked directly with the hiring manager.
Five total interviews with the hiring manager, adjacent business leaders, and a founder, all over video conference.
Hiring manager was absent or very reactive. Being new himself, he made an investment in a candidate who didn't work out. I felt he was feeling the pressure to remedy the mistake he made as a new executive. Fairly curt and surly at times.
I closed each interviewer with an endorsement for the role. Most endorsed, with two acknowledging the effort with a smile, but allowed there were more candidates.
In the end, it felt like a preview of what it would be like to work under this manager, in this organization. Felt like a lack of clarity on execution and direction, with an unevenness of the manager's mood, it was not a great fit.
Splashtop IS a very good company, and has an excellent reputation, however. Other organizations likely have it figured it out.
