I have been working at Spyder Trap full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Spyder Trap is a great place to work. There are many things to like but what makes the work environment great is the people. They are full of unique insights into digital problems and have the talent to work through the largest challenges. The office space is fantastic located right next to Loring Park makes it easy to come and go without getting stuck in too much downtown traffic. Compensation is fair and the benefits are great. Given the size of the company they do a good job of offering similar benefit packages as companies ten times the people. There is a high level of transparency with the employees of the company which is a big positive for me.

    Cons

I love the building but once in a while due to the nature of its age, the building can leak when there has been a bad storm. Luckily it's in an area that has little effect on peoples work day life.

    Advice to Management

Continue to find creative ways to have all types of employees voice their opinions. Also look for ways to have some offsite team building activities to strengthen bonds between employees.

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took a week. I interviewed at Spyder Trap (Minneapolis, MN) in March 2016.

    Interview

I came in for two in-person interviews. The first interview was a general one-on-one interview with the development team manager. The second interview included one of the lead developers, as well, and was more technical and included a code challenge. Both interviews were pretty low-pressure and everyone was very friendly.

    Interview Questions

    • During the first interview they asked about what technologies I prefer working with and why. During the code challenge I had to download a git repo, connect to an external API, and debug some of the functionality in the repo.   Answer Question
