I worked at St. John & Partners (More than 10 years)
Management provided all of the tools to do your job; great coworkers who were committed to giving 110% for the client and to each other; work space designed to foster creativity and collaboration; good internal awards programs where coworkers could honor colleagues who went above and beyond what was expected
While work-life balance was preached, it wasn't always practiced; some employees were favored over others, allowing bad behaviors to be dismissed for a few without repercussions; too much focus on drinking alcohol at frequent staff parties during or after work; relatively low pay compared to competitive set led to continuous turnover
Advice to Management
You;ve built a good culture of being like an extended family by bringing field employees in for quarterly meetings and other events, keep it up. No need to make the staff meetings like a frat party.
I applied through college or university. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at St. John & Partners in March 2015.
Met HR director at university networking event. Communicated via e-mail after. Set up a skype interview, about a 4-6 weeks later, because I wasn't living in the same city as the office. Interviewed with intern director and potential mentor (Media Planner). Heard back two weeks later.
