I worked at St Johns County School District full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Monday - Friday schedule, flexible hours, summer hours were convenient and provided a change of pace by visiting other schools for work.

    Cons

The starting pay was low but in line with other starting wages for the same position. The 3% FRS contribution made take home pay even lower.

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at St Johns County School District in December 2017.

    Interview

I got a call on Friday to come in for an interview for Nease High School on the next Monday. No flexibility on scheduling for the interview only on that day. Had to take PTO off my current job, and then drive all the way down to St. Augustine for it. It seemed like when one of the interviewers came out to get me from the front office, she seemed hesitant for some reason. She took me to conference room and there was the administrative secretary also there to interview. Both read off questions from paper, not making a lot of eye contact. It lasted about 5 minutes and then we were done. It looks like they might have already made up their mind about someone else before the interview started. What a waste of my time.
