I worked at Standard Calibrations full-time (More than 5 years)
Flexible schedule, great work environment. An always changing style environment where every day is different than the last. Locally owned, original owner(s).
Pay is rather low for comparable positions elsewhere. Nepotism is a must to survive at SCI. Everyone who is paid and/or compensated well is a family member or friend of an owner/executive. Occasional backstabbing/running over by the bus. No way the owner will ever give a commission to his sales staff. Sales Salaries all over the place. No real role.
Advice to Management
Better pay, more goals, less favoritism.
I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at Standard Calibrations.
Hiring process seemed a bit outdated, a lot of paperwork and it took weeks to get my logon credentials set up. The interview was good, my manager asked questions relevant to the role and responded well to my feedback/responses.
Did not negotiate.
