I have been working at Standard TV and Appliance full-time
I've worked for this company for about 5 years now and I genuinely love coming to work because of the wonderful staff I work with. I've learned a great deal from working here because of the knowledge other employees are willing to share with me. What I love about this company is that there is room to advance and opportunities that open if you are ambitious and hardworking enough. The owner definitely cares about his employees but it takes a team to create a more positive work environment.
Some of the downside of the company is the miscommunication between departments and the lack of accountability. Company morale is also lacking, hence, the negativity amongst employees.
Advice to Management
Need to strengthen company morale so every employee would enjoy coming to work and actually care enough to do an amazing job.
I applied in-person. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Standard TV and Appliance (Portland, OR) in January 2011.
The entire interview process comprise of a formal interview process involving multiple upper managers. Each manager asked their own independant questions and make note for the next manager. At the end of all management interviews a meeting occur between them and they talk about the candidate.
