I have been working at Stantec full-time (More than a year)
The Sacramento office of Stantec is ideally located as we have both a strong architecture and engineering services. Our Environmental Services group benefits from this as we have huge opportunity to work for a wide variety of clients. As someone who has worked with another large engineering firm previously, Stantec works much harder to ensure integration of disciplines across the company. I routinely get to work with other specialists across the company and we collaborate on projects. I have found I get paid higher than my competitors who have similar years experience. There is a fair amount of upward mobility.
Top heavy management structure. While the majority of upper management is high quality, hiring sometimes skews towards hiring the level of staff rather than quality mid and lower level.
I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Stantec in March 2018.
Online application and portfolio submission. Interviewed at the office in Los Angeles. Interviewers were pleasant enough. Easy going talk. Was asked to tell them about myself. I went over my portfolio with them.
Stantec designers walk the talk and create our very own “Nest,” an open concept office that encourages productivity. Located in Sacramento, California, this employee-friendly space is a must-see and ranked as a top cutting-edge office by the Sacramento Bee. http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQjow
What does Jim Chatas love about his job? Having meaningful conversations with clients and mentoring young professionals. Jim shows us a day in the life of a principal architect who transforms into a classic car aficionado at night. http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQjBp
