I have been working at Star Manufacturing International full-time (More than 5 years)
Complete upper management overhaul occurred last summer and has made a HUGE difference in the overall organization. Also having the customer service and technical service in the same location as the factory has improved business. Company definitely seems to finally be heading in the right direction. Employees are happier, it's a less stressful environment and the new president is a great guy.
The people are great!
Location isn't ideal but, at least you're not dealing with rush hour traffic.
Some departments operate so lean that it makes it difficult to get things done efficiently.
Advice to Management
Invest in your employees. When you invest in employees you get a much lower turnover and much higher quality individuals. Just like the saying "What if we train them and they leave? What if we don't and they stay!"
I applied online. The process took 2+ weeks. I interviewed at Star Manufacturing International (Saint Louis, MO) in August 2015.
I was contacted by the HR after a few weeks of applying. Scheduled a talk for a few minutes. Briefly asked about my experience and the responsibilities of the current goal. she told me she will forward my resume to the hiring manager and contact me if I get to the next stage.
After a week the HR contacted me again and asked me to come on-site. On site I was interviewed my the CIO and the Director of operators. Asked questions related to their products and my resume. Interview was very relaxed and less intense
