Starburst is honored to have been awarded the International Channel of the Year from Allbound. Thank you! We are proud and grateful that transformational global & regional partners and software vendors are investing in Starburst and making Starburst an integral part of their growth and business success! As a US-based startup, it's easier to make partnerships successful at "home" in the US. It speaks to the quality of the teams and teamwork to stand up and make our international partner channel in EMEA and APAC successful. It's fabulous to witness Starburst's ability to work as a cohesive team, collectively engaging our partners and making our joint clients super successful! Thank you, Allbound, for this award, it means a lot to the Starburst team!

The office in Poland was humming with activity last week! Starburst Engineering and Product team members from Poland, the United States, Canada, Israel, Estonia, India, Belgium, Austria, and Japan gathered in person to discuss the future of our products. All Stars not only work hard, but they also take time to have fun together, such as during the offsite cooking class. It was a fantastic opportunity for the team to continue building relationships while having a lot of fun! Great news if you want to be a part of this journey! We're still growing!

I messed up badly.. Years ago, I made an impulsive decision to get SMILE laser eye surgery to correct myopia and I have all the possible complications from it. The quality of vision I have now is nothing like crisp and sharp vision I used to have with glasses. So much glare, halo, starburst, light streaks, double/triple vision, loss of contrast, low acuity in dim lighting, dry eyes.. I’m in my mid 20s and I feel like my life is over.

    Engineering Manager Interview

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Starburst (San Francisco, CA) in Aug 2022

After the recruiter screening, there is a 1 hour interview with the hiring manager - where he/she goes over the usual intros, and then does a deep dive on your experience in engineering management. The discussion with my HM was interesting & respectful. The process to follow seemed relevant & reasonable. Which honestly is a breath of fresh air, in this world of absurd interviews!

At a high level it was clear what product line this position was for (Galaxy in my case - which is their SaaS offering) & I also got an overview of Starburst, the various teams and such. The HM couldn't provide details on the position (specific team responsibilities, number of directs who'll report to you, ..). They were hiring for multiple positions & possibly wanted to defer this to later.

The next set of interviews were with product & engineering management leads. In my case I had 1 PM & 1 EM interview me. They went over some specific areas surrounding execution & collaboration. While I felt the conversations went well overall, I was told I wasn't the right fit. I'm sure they know what they were looking for, so it's not for me to agree or disagree. Although I have to admit I was a bit disappointed :-|

Overall the whole process was pleasant and did not seem like a waste of time, even though I did not get an offer. I was happy to learn a few things and also got some interview practice :)

The recruiter as well as the recruiting co-ordinator were both very easy to work with
