I have been working at State Street Global Advisors full-time (Less than a year)
The reputation and the name of the company speaks for itself. Plenty of autonomy and freedom to develop new systems and implement new ideas with plenty of support from management. Big company with lots of room for upward growth. Compensation is also very competitive. I know this isn't the case for all positions but for my field it is.
Not much guidance from management or team leads. The autonomy to work freely also comes with a risk of getting stuck, or worse, spending vast amounts of time on processes and systems that won't help a particular business group.
Advice to Management
Better oversight and guidance of employees. Not being micromanaged is great, but that doesn't mean remove yourself from the picture completely
I applied online. I interviewed at State Street Global Advisors (Boston, MA) in November 2015.
I interviewed with 5 people. Not one person addressed me by name or took any interest in me. SSGA does not give any information regarding the process following the interview, they just drop you. Attempts to get information following the interview are ignored by their recruitment. This was a very bad experience for me and poor timing.
