I worked at State of Kansas full-time (More than a year)
-Great co-workers at my area office
-Outdated performance/review system
-To much focus on policy/regulations instead of clients
-First line supervisors often have poor leadership skills
Advice to Management
-Develop a new promotion system that focuses on not only the specifics of the job, but strong leadership skills.
-Be direct in dealing with workers, instead of hiding negative news until the last possible moment
I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at State of Kansas (Topeka, KS).
The interview process took a total of about 6 weeks from application to hiring. The process consisted of an in-person interview with 4 individuals each asking questions related to previous work history and work ethic.
