I worked at StrategyWise as an intern (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great office culture
Everyone I met during my time was super kind and helpful
I learned a lot during my time here

    Cons

They only offer paid positions to college graduates, so for some that might be an issue to some people

    Data Scientist Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Birmingham, AL
    No Offer
    Negative Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at StrategyWise (Birmingham, AL) in October 2019.

    Interview

At no point in 3 interviews did I speak to a data scientist. The CEO told me, "I have one foot in analytics here" then said he didn't know what Random Forests is. After the 2nd phone screen, one guy said, "Come by the office, we'll buy you lunch or something" but I went to the office and had to wait for 10 minutes while they ate lunch in front of me.
First was an 80-minute quiz on pandas and sklearn, then an easy phone screen, then a programming challenge with a dataset. Nothing too bad if you've done projects but very time-consuming. Then another phone screen with the CEO, nothing technical.
I was told coming by the office would be a hangout/cultural fit thing, but it turned out to be a panel interview with a rough format.
I'd suggest avoiding StrategyWise because they'll use a lot of your time with programming challenges, then the people hiring you don't know any data science.
