Streck – Why Work With Us?

Streck developed its core technology of cell stabilization in the early ’70s when blood cells were still being counted manually using microscopes. By isolating and stabilizing platelets, our scientists were able to facilitate automatic counting and develop an accurate system for calibrating platelet-counting devices.

Today, Streck holds over 40 patents on more than 20 products and makes testing and reagent materials for some of the industry’s leading instrument manufacturers, such as Abbott, Siemens, and Sysmex, among others.

Streck is located in America’s heartland at a 200,000-sq. ft. production facility in La Vista, Nebraska. Here, our products are manufactured and delivered to over 13,000 labs in 65 countries around the world.

At Streck, we offer a unique and satisfying employment opportunity. We are an employer of choice because Streck is a moderate-size company that allows an individual to have a direct impact on company success.

I have been working at Streck full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Coming from a 24/7 hospital environment, the 8-5pm weekdays feel fabulous. I can leave work at work, and not stress about being available on evenings, weekends, and holidays. I also love my coworkers and the attitudes of everyone in R&D. My direct managers and team are the best I've ever had, and I think there are opportunities for my growth over the next 10 years, at least.

    Cons

Sometimes it feels disorganized in our department because we keep changing focus and goals quite a lot. Upper management and executives are not very transparent when big changes happen.

    Advice to Management

I love the culture and management here, but sometimes I wish there would be a little more focus on the value of employees and not quite as much priority on the $$.

There was first an over the phone interview and then a couple weeks later I came in for an in person. The in person started with HR and then moved to a different location with the manager and director. That lasted for about 1.5 hours. Then you take a tour and that is it.
