I worked at Stretch-o-rama full-time
I really enjoyed my time at Longstreet. I was able to grow and learn a lot. I moved back home to be with family and so had to leave the position.
Environment was fun and engaging, nice amount of vacation days and possibilities to excel.
I was a newbie to the fashion field and so needed some additional guidance. It came in the end, but would have liked a more structured onboarding process. (I hear they are doing it now though)
Advice to Management
With regard to the onboarding I think that would be the best time and effort spent with new employees to make sure they are well equipped to handle the business.
I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Stretch-o-rama in November 2013.
Head designer was 'out sick' day of the interview; later found out s/he was actually there, but didn't 'feel like' interviewing.
Interviewed by another assistant designer in same department.
Performed 't-shirt test' to show abilities in Illustrator.
Interview ended, told contact would be within a week.
