I worked at Student Conservation Association full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good work culture, fulfilling job, formed great relationships with co-crew leaders, train you well but some knowledge in conservation / the environment seems pretty key

    Cons

Requires a lot of physical activity, exposure to bugs + poison ivy, a lot of outside work (e.g. coordinating field trips, logging project details, weekly phone conferences) beyond regular work hours

    Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Student Conservation Association in March 2017.

    Interview

Applied through SCA website; information sent by SCA to the person in charge of hiring; contacted and asked for interview by site manager; basic interview mostly focused on behavioral questions and ability to perform tasks of the job.
