“I love my role because I get to work with our passionate community of Sugar Developers who are smart, creative, and funny. My role is important because not only do I advocate for building and integrating the Sugar platform with customers and partners but I get to advocate for the needs of the Sugar Developer community. SugarCRM has given me the opportunity to grow from a code slinger to my current multi-disciplinary role. SugarCRM is a company that grows with you.” -Director of Product Management, Platform

“I have worked at SugarCRM for over ten years and I can say, without a doubt, it’s the people that work here who make this place a great place to spend your time five days a week. That, and having leaders who truly care about the success of the company as well the success and fulfillment of their employees.”  -Executive Assistant

People love working with and for SugarCRM because of our people. We are always hiring energetic, positive, and intellectually curious engineers. And we hope to have the chance to meet YOU!

Don’t fear the technology rut! The team works on a variety of technology: machine learning, CRUD applications, single page web apps, Android / iOS mobile apps, and BPM written in PHP, JavaScript, Ruby, and more.

The SugarCRM Product Team is spread out across seven countries. We bring everyone together a couple times a year for a “sprint week” which is not only fun but a great way to make sure the Product Team bonds and stays connected. We offer perks in our engineering offices like beverages, snacks, weekly catered lunches, movie nights, release parties, AND the occasional ping pong tournament!

Escape Room Fun with Summer 2018 Interns!

Intern Testimonials

“The work environment and ethics here are really great. I liked the flexibility that was given to me so that I could learn and work. At the same time, I always had the sense of responsibility and accountability which made me feel more included and closer to the team. All these factors provided me with the right set of motivation to excel and prove myself worthy of the work and it was equally reciprocated and acknowledged by my team all along the way.”  -Software Engineer Intern (2018)

“Working at SugarCRM has been an awesome experience. I was given a project that has been challenging and fun and allowed me to learn an incredible amount over the Summer. You can tell a lot about a company by the people you work with, and the relaxed, friendly culture I have experienced here reflects the care that SugarCRM takes in providing a great work environment and work/life balance. Add food & events (the annual hackathon week was great!), and you have a recipe for a great place to work.”  -Software Engineer Intern (2018)

"I chose to work at SugarCRM because of the people, the product and "word on the street". I didn't know boo about SugarCRM, until Carrie contacted me for a phone interview. Quickly I researched as much as possible and was impressed with the message, the product reviews, the executive backgrounds and the stability of the company.  In my three months here I have not been disappointed with my decision to work at Sugar. A few things that consistently impress me are the women here. Everywhere you look there is a female who is exceptionally smart, driven and funny. At Sugar you work hard, but it feels right. It feels as if we are all working to the same goal. The culture fits my personality and working with such an amazing cast of people, drives me to do my best because everyone around me is doing so."

- Executive Admin, February 2014

"I came to work here, because in the interview process I learned that all 8 of the Sugar employees I encountered were enthusiastic, positive, high energy, clear minded, kind people—without exception—and sincere as well. SugarCRM is in a terrific position to move into the future in a specatucularly successful way, and I wanted to be a part of that.  What I have learned since is that SugarCRM is managed with goals and success  in mind, but with a lot of heart and soul.  I feel encouraged to grow and learn and am rewarded and recognized when I do perform well.   The benefits package and overall approach to managing employees is generous, well above industry standard.  The company clearly prioritizes treating its employees well, not just fairly.  I enjoy the people I work with—a lot!  We are united in our endeavors and the enthusiasm towards that is pervasive thru departments and outlying locations.  I have not been disappointed in any way since joining the SugarCRM team."

- Inside Sales Representative, February 2014

"I came to work at SugarCRM because I knew that it was a place that would bring opportunities to learn and grow my abilities.  I tell my friends and family this all the time. I love my job because it’s fun and I absolutely enjoy the people around me."

- Associate Account Manager, February 2014

"I decided to work for SugarCRM because I felt it was the best place to enhance my programming skills post-graduation.  Another deciding factor was the fact that I would be given a large responsibility in my duties as a Software Engineer; I felt this will allow me to thrive under pressure and reach my creative potential.  The experience so far has been excellent.  The aspect I value the most is that the working environment is extremely friendly - the (brilliant) people you work with day-to–day have a knack for making you feel truly welcome, and that you're a vital/contributing member of the team".

 - Software Developer

"What I like most about the company is the open and trust environment. Coming from a cubicle work environment, it did take a while to adjust. I also like the lunch demo events; it's nice to see partners come to show how they use SugarCRM".

 - Senior Software QA Engineer

"Sugar is a great opportunity for anyone who wants to grow professionally, be challenged and have fun, all at the same time.  The company is growing at a rapid pace giving employees the opportunity to grow with it rather than having to climb up a bureaucratic ladder. What I enjoyed the most during my interviewing process was its transparency.  There were no hidden secrets and no mind playing.  Simply good people looking for qualified candidates to join their team".

"Sugar is truly a fun place to work. It is extremely diverse, filled with incredibly bright, kind and hard-working individuals willing to put the hours in making the company a success. In return, management ensures to have employee appreciation at the top of their list —something I've always considered extremely important.  It truly makes a difference to work for a company that appreciates the work you do and is willing to show it".

 - Channel  Operations Manager

"I joined SugarCRM in August, and would like to share with you what I was looking for and what helped me make my decision to join Sugar.  Besides the fact that the position I interviewed with is a perfect match and I liked people I interviewed with, this article had a huge positive impact on me: http://goo.gl/nD0yH, "17 Enterprise Start-ups to Bet Your Career On".  Sugar's recruiting team was the most professional and efficient among the companies I interviewed with. They made my interviewing process very pleasant. I was highly impressed. "

- Principal Product Manager

"I am really happy to be part of Sugar. Since I came here I see every day how Sugar is getting bigger and bigger and I feel part of it. I know that I am in the right company and in the right moment. I can feel it in the air, every time I take a look around I see smart people working with passion and bringing new ideas. This is a big family thinking about the future, and I´m proud of it".

I have been working at SugarCRM full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

-Sugar allows for a true work/life balance while maintaining a fast paced, ever-evolving business
-Unlike many companies who openly put all their focus and regard on pleasing shareholders (even to the detriment of employees and customers), Sugar shows a genuine regard for their employees' personal and professional well-being.
-Exceptional benefits (above-average salary range for the area, unlimited PTO, beneficial insurance & 401k option, etc)

    Cons

The only "con" I have experienced is not a con but merely a learning-curve: Due to having active offices throughout the globe, it takes a little time to build relationships and learn who does what.

    IT Manager Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Cupertino, CA
    No Offer
    Negative Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at SugarCRM (Cupertino, CA) in February 2019.

    Interview

Curt, circuitous...the recruiter almost immediately jumped to how much money I wanted and then proceeded to tell me that running an IT department was not a Director level role, and that the comp they were offering was 20K below market. Typical, "I'm sorry you feel that way".

Seemed like they were trying to find a reason not to proceed so I cut it short. I have a day job and don't need your power trip.
