The Sumo Logic Story
Our founders one goal: to develop enterprise software that was easy to deploy, was powerful yet simple, and that delivered on the promise of actionable insights from the company’s log data. The timing couldn’t have been better. Enterprises continued to drown in data, and the cloud was becoming mainstream.
Sumo Logic became the first enterprise grade cloud-based service for log analysis. For the first time, customers had a service that delivered interactive and proactive analytics at an unprecedented scale – minus all of the complexity of outdated on-premise or home-grown solutions.
Within two years we launched our first product, and today are the category leading machine data analytics platform that delivers continuous intelligence to more than 1,600 customers globally and delivering 10s of milliions of insights daily.
Sumo is undoubtedly positioned on the right side of a generational shift in technology, we have a powerful and proven service, and an elite set of investors backing us. We believe how we work together, and our ability to constantly lean in to change and improve, will be critical to our future success.
From our company’s inception, our founders drove core values that reflected the
type of company they were passionate about building. Maintaining a laser focus on our core values in everything we do is fundamental to the fulfillment and success of our employees. From every hire we make, to how we communicate and make decisions, our values are foundational to creating a work environment where employees can thrive.

I have been working at Sumo Logic full-time (Less than a year)
Amazing culture. Welcoming, helpful, and friendly. Smart people working to solve complex issues around machine data - with the primary goal of helping companies manage, maintain, operate, and secure their digital properties.
Need more standing desks.
I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Sumo Logic (Redwood City, CA) in December 2014.
I scheduled a call with the Corporate Sales Director. He called me and we discussed my basic background and experience and he asked why I wanted to work at Sumo Logic. He then brought me in for an in-person interview. During that interview I met with the two managers of my team. They had different techniques, asking about my experience but mainly asking me why I thought I would be a good fit. Then I met with the VP of Sales a few days later and received a job offer the next week.
