You get the opportunity to work with sales data from large customers like WalMart, Toys R Us, Sears Holding and Best Buy thereby giving you an idea how your work affects what happens in those channels.
Middle and upper management was very knowledgeable and taught me a great deal about physical distribution and channel marketing.
The Sales and Operations departments were very silo-ed and as a result business decisions were made without full managerial consensus leading to disputed and, at times delayed project execution.
Advice to Management
Aligning sales and operations prior to all sales project implementation may have prevented some of execution issues faced by the company.
