Mission: We’ve made our mark by finding out what makes our clients and candidates tick, and that’s why 96% of our clients want to be swoon’d over and over again.
Swoon is proud to announce that our Vice President, Patty Bogosh has been recognized as one of Staffing Industry Analysts' 40 under 40 for all of her hard work and accomplishments! Congrats Patty; we are happy to have you in our flock! http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQMLy
We would like to send a huge congratulations to Antoine Smith, our Swooner of the Quarter for Q2! Antoine is a Technical Account Lead Recruiter in our Chicago office who truly embodies what it means to be a Swooner.
Swoon is the brainchild of a handful of industry professionals who wanted to change the recruiting game. By examining the industry and seeing what was and wasn’t working, we gained the insight to create a place with an innovative and personal perspective. Swoon is a career hub that’s unlike any other. A place where the focus is on the people first and the placement second.
For us, we’d rather have a single candidate find a job they love, rather than a dozen people simply find a desk to sit at from 9 to 5. We believe our value will come to light in the long run.
Contrary to popular practice, we are in no rush to find jobs. We put in the legwork to make sure that our matches fit like a glove. Because when you find a job that is right for you, it means we are doing our job.
Don’t believe us? Challenge accepted, we don’t stop looking until you are working for a company that makes you smile.
Swoon is a WBENC-Certified company.
We could punch in and out like some 9-to-5ers, but we wouldn’t have the heart it takes to be an award-winning team of recruiters. Day in and day out, we swoon together. With our team. With our communities. With our cities.
Take a few minutes to learn about the causes we support and read our stories from the field. And then don’t be shy! Pitch in at one of these organizations this year too.
We ask each of our new Swooners to tell their first impressions of Swoon. Here's what they say:

“One thing that I learned this week is that Swoon offers an extremely collaborative and open environment. Everyone that I have met has been extremely welcoming and I am already able to tell that everyone is hard-working and passionate about their work.”
Jim’s first impressions of Swoon:
“My first impression when I walked into Swoon was how inviting and happy everyone was. The work environment is unlike any I have previously encountered. Everyone works as one team and welcomes everyone as part of that team. Swoon has a level of professionalism and passion that cannot be matched. I can happily say Swoon is one of the most exciting environments that I have ever walked into.”
Kristin’s first impressions of Swoon:
“Everyone seems very excited to welcome new hires into Swoon. I love the look and feel of the office (very colorful and well-branded). Definitely a work hard, play hard atmosphere. All of the Swooners seem to be very extroverted and helpful. I can’t wait to grow within Swoon and see what I accomplish in my new career!”
Maegan’s first impressions of Swoon:
“Since I've started working at Swoon, I've been looking forward to coming into the office every day to get to know my coworkers better. Everyone is so welcoming, even to the extent of smiling at you while passing in the hallway. The work atmosphere is professional but fun! I can't wait to dig deeper into work and build some friendships there!”
Shawn’s first impressions of Swoon:
“The first thing that I noticed about Swoon is the culture. From the moment that I was shown my desk, I noticed that there was a big note from everyone welcoming me to the company. I was floored by how invited I felt. One of the hardest parts of starting somewhere new is the meeting of new people and at times feeling alienated; not here. I was brought in with warm welcomes and high energy. The value of the people working is was the next strongest attribute. I felt that I was finally surrounded by professionals who really care about the work they do, and I know I will continue to grow from their knowledge.”
Grace’s first impressions of Swoon:
“On my first day I was intimidated by how much there was to learn, but the training process has been extremely organized, clear and concise. Plus, I really dig everyone’s welcoming energy and the work hard play hard environment here. It is super refreshing to be a part of a company where everyone enjoys coming into work every day; everyone here is also hilarious, I find myself laughing every couple of minutes and I love it! Finally: Revolution’s Anti-Hero beer on tap….thank you.”
Nushin’s first impressions of Swoon:
“Coming from a male-dominated industry, I was very delighted to see the diversity and originality that Swoon promotes. It is apparent that Swoon is a collaborative environment that invites different ideas that will make for an innovative workplace. I am hoping to contribute to our wonderful team and be a part of Swoon’s charming culture.”
Kelly’s first impressions of Swoon:
“My first week at Swoon has been wonderful! I was overwhelmed with how outgoing and friendly the staff is, within the first 30 minutes of being here every person introduced themselves which made me feel very comfortable. There is a lot of information, which can be intimidating, but the trainers did a great job of delivering the material in a relatable way that makes sense to someone like me who is new to the industry. I can already tell this is a place I plan to stay for a long time and look forward to many more weeks at Swoon!”
I have been working at Swoon full-time (Less than a year)
Reading so many good reviews about a company can seem like it's almost too good to be true, but Swoon is truly a fantastic company to work for. We are growing fast and for a staffing group that's not even 10 years old, we've accomplished so much and have really cemented our place in this industry, competing with top agencies that have been around for over a decade. The best part about working for Swoon is that everyone genuinely wants to work hard for themselves and for the company. Coworkers are extremely encouraging. We celebrate the success (small or big) of everyone and have great leadership in all departments to learn from, but also keep us accountable.
The hours can be long, but with any position at Swoon, you are going to get out what you put in. Recruiters who choose to work a little extra on the weekends will come out ahead on a Monday morning. There's also lot of metrics driven in analyzing your performance. Is it everything? No. But numbers speak for themselves and we are still a business that needs to make sure our goals are being met. That said, there are so many great plans that leads put together to set you up for success. No one here wants to see you fail. An individual win is everyone's win. Honestly, this isn't a place for people that just want to coast by. Swoon is filled with hard working people that want to succeed. If you don't have that drive or motivation, it may not be the place for you.
Advice to Management
We are growing fast and in different locations. Making sure we have the resources to grow out teams and to train is important.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Swoon (Chicago, IL) in October 2013.
Overall experience was professional and friendly. Are well informed and had a number of opportunities to explore. Communication was adequate and relevant. Staff were up to speed on current market trends as well.
