I worked at Sydney Water full-time (More than 3 years)
9 Day fortnight
Easy to take time off
If you have a good manger they can mentor and develop you to where you want to be
If you are in team where you have bad manager it is hard to progress and grow.
Any family or husband and wives working at the company need to be in completely different divisions to get rid of negative conflict of interest tactics.
Advice to Management
Get rid of the staff that have the old/public sector mentality and be harsher on under-performers
I applied online. I interviewed at Sydney Water (Parramatta (Australia)) in June 2016.
- CV/cover letter submission
- Online video questions (very awkward)
- Assessment centre; involving 2 group activities and 1 individual activity. Group activities included discussing how to respond to a mains break and designing a wastewater plant with the customer at the heart. Individual task was to present to two assessors how you would plan your work in the first 90 days at Sydney Water
- Panel interview; there were two interviewers. One from HR and the other an accountant from within Sydney Water.
