Since acquiring Systems Alliance in 2003, Ric has transformed the company by applying expertise and processes he mastered while leading the North American Information, Communication and Entertainment IT Solutions Consulting practice for PricewaterhouseCoopers. Prior to PwC, Ric was founder and president of Capital Systems, Ltd., a regional IT consulting firm that successfully developed and implemented imaging projects for clients in the banking, legal and defense industries. Ric has launched and funded several start-up businesses at various times during his career.
Ric earned a BS in Business Management from the University of Baltimore. He currently serves on the technology industry advisory board for the Community College of Baltimore County and has been invited to lecture MBA and undergrad students on IT industry trends and Entrepreneurial topics at Cornell, Loyola, UMBC and CCBC.
Leads the overall design, development, and support of SAI’s software products portfolio. He complements his high-tech professional interests with low-tech personal interests including blacksmithing, weightlifting, and bass guitar.
Josh Crone has more than a decade of experience as a leader in technology. Prior to joining SAI, Josh served as Vice President of Technical Services at Penguin Random House. In this role, Josh provided strategic direction and practical guidance for all aspects of technology. He has extensive experience in the design, implementation, and support of several large-scale web, e-commerce, and back office applications for both internal and external clients.

Joining the SAI Digital team has been a great career decision for me. There is a lot of room for growth for motivated, passionate, hard-working individuals. The workplace vibe is professional, but everyone knows how to have fun, too. Everyone is just generally really nice.
This is a great environment to work in if you enjoy collaboration and working as part of a team. We work hard to meet our project timelines and deliver flawless work to our clients.
Despite the fast pace and deadline-driven environment, there is tremendous amount of support and flexibility for outside responsibilities—e.g. having a family, needing to pick up a sick child from school, etc. Leadership is supportive, but also the team itself. I've never been made to feel guilty for needing to balance outside obligations with work, which is rare in the corporate world.
Perks: casual dress code, breakfast on Fridays, personal laptop, and company-paid health insurance. Traveling to various cities across the US to visit client sites is a great opportunity, too. Also the Digital team is pretty freakin' fun to work with. :)
Company culture vs. team culture varies due to lack of a cohesive overarching SAI brand. At times it is difficult to see where SAI Digital fits into the SAI organization.
Limited paid holidays; the day after Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve should be included, in my opinion. Benefits for dependents an d families is not competitive.
Advice to Management
Continue to support employees' desire to grow through funding professional development opportunities. Consider adding additional paid holidays.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Systems Alliance (Hunt Valley, MD) in September 2017.
It started off with an email to answer a series of 6 questions out of 10. Once that was completed we moved towards a phone interview with another series of questions on HTML, CSS, SQL. After that was through an in person interview was scheduled and I proceeded through a 2 hour interview meeting with many individuals throughout the process. The questions asked were also based on web technologies, Java programming language as well as general questions regarding handling customers, and individuals
