Sophia Tong, President and CEO

As founder and CEO, Ms. Tong provides T&T with exemplary leadership and drives our strategic direction. Her contributions have been instrumental in creating steady growth for T&T. Under Ms.  Tong's leadership and stewardship, T&T has grown from its founding in 2004 to a Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Maturity Level 3 for Services appraised organization with a broad array of federal government and commercial clients - including the Department of Defense, Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Veterans Affairs, and Department of Homeland Security, among others. Under her guidance, the company has enjoyed many years of uninterrupted growth and success.

Ms. Tong has a M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Maryland, and a B.S. in Computer  Science and Information Engineering from National Chiao Tung University in Taiwan. She is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and is also Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certified. With over 15 years of direct experience in software engineering and project management, Ms. Tong provides a balanced technical and functional skill set and has played a vital leadership role in many application development projects. She has built strong organizations and processes through effective communications and partnerships.

 

Gavin Mason, Chief Information Officer

Mr. Mason is a former military organizational and regional Chief Information Officer with 30 years of federal information management and technology leadership experience, supporting unit and enterprise-level technical strategies and tactical implementations. As our hands-on technology leader, Mr. Mason works directly with clients and teams to build sustainable solutions and support efforts based on the needs of a variety of federal agency requirements. His diverse knowledge and management of data and technology have led to successful infrastructure re-engineering, datacenter consolidation, application virtualization, organizational consolidation, software development, and C4IT projects. His selective approach to new opportunities, closely related to past performance, are keys to expanding company skills and experience to support Ms. Tong’s steady growth strategy.

Mr. Mason holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Maryland, an MBA in Decision Information Sciences from the University of Florida, and most recently, earned his M.S. in Clinical Informatics from Northwestern University. He is a Certified Professional in Electronic Health Records (CPEHR), ITIL v3 Foundation Certified (ITILv3), Senior Certified Professional in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CPHIMS), and a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP). As our lead technologist, Mr. Mason is supporting T&T’s rapid growth with his skills and credentials by understanding new requirements and company competencies, while working with clients to build partnerships focused on achieving goals of the organizations.

 

John Stone, Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Stone possesses over 25 years of progressive technical and business management experience, he is an accomplished leader of large, complex technical projects for government clients including DoD and Civilian agencies. Mr. Stone delivers expertise in program and financial management processes with outstanding proficiency in risk management, quality management, financial management, change and configuration management, and schedule management.

Mr. Stone holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics/Business from the Randolph-Macon College. He is a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and Certified Scrum Master (CSM).

    Pros

    I have been working for T&T Consulting, Inc. for a few years now and I have to say that they are the best company I have worked for in all of my years as a contractor for the government. They really show their appreciation to their employees and encourage them to move up in the company. If you are looking for a great company to work for, look no further. They have positions working in an office and remotely at home so it is a win-win situation for whatever your needs may be. I love working for T&T Consulting, Inc.

    I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at T and T Consulting Services (Falls Church, VA).

    Interview

    I had two interviews, the first was an initial phone screen with the Contracts Manager, and the second was an in-person, round table style interview at the corporate office with the CEO, COO, and CIO. They were all very welcoming and professional.

    I liked that they took the time to explain their needs for the position first, before asking me about my experience. I found this additional context to be extremely helpful in framing my responses. I feel like in other interviews, it's like shooting in the dark to try to figure out if your answer is what the interviewer is looking for.

    I also really liked the fact that I got to speak with most of the leadership team all at once. I thought it would be really nerve-racking going in, but it was actually really nice to see the dynamics between the company's leadership team, and they made me feel really at ease throughout the interview.
