Mission: Empower the world's most innovative and progressive companies to profit from the power of place.
I have been working at T3 Advisors full-time (Less than a year)
From top down, the company is invested in you as an employee and where you want to see your career go. Very team-centric! Huge focus on company's core values, and these are reflected in the way the employees do work. It is an amazing group of people to be around, to learn from, and to grow with.
Flexible work schedule. There is no limit on vacation days; however, the team works extremely hard and does not take advantage of this. If you are getting your work done efficiently and of good quality, there is a lot of flexibility. Teammates will cover for you, but at the same time you are willing to cover for others. We are a family here, which is by far the best part. The OneT3 pool is extremely unique to T3, as everyone get's a little compensation for each project done and closed at T3. It just shows how important your work is to the team in general, especially the new hires who take a little time on-boarding.
A lot of amazing coaching from those who are higher up in the company. Monthly one on one meetings. Great medical benefits, % match of retirement, ability to join T3 phone plan.
This is a company/job where you learn by doing-- both mess ups and accomplishments.
We work with really cool companies of all kinds in tech and life science. Lot's of exposure and learning on a day to day basis about the VC world and new trends in tech.
I truly believe there is no other job like working at T3-- it is a privilege! People first in every aspect!
The only con I would share (which is just the nature of the job) is compensation and on-boarding if you are a new employee. We are project and commission based, and you must be willing to take more of a paycheck-to-paycheck living approach until you are fully on-boarded and getting paid by deals you are working on (but, I guess this depends on one's situation). The Real Estate process can take up to 6 months or longer, which is tough when you are trying to live on your own; however, it does significantly help having the global pool. **This "con" has to do with being a new employee.
Advice to Management
One of the only things I would say for the future would be to be more transparent with younger employees of what the pay structure looks like in the first 6 months. T3 is growing, which is awesome, and beginning to bring on more employees with great potential who are only a year or so out of college. Thus, I do think it is important to show what that trajectory looks like, especially with cost of living in the Bay Area. The on-boarding process could be revamped a little bit, but once again, these are all changes and visions that T3 is continuing to improve and test as more new people come on.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at T3 Advisors (San Francisco, CA) in January 2018.
Was referred to the company through a friend who is a current employee. I met with a Principal for coffee, then separate meetings with a Partner and then lastly a Managing Partner.
